Both feet on the floor.
Grounded.
This routine may seem small but it changed my life.
And I only owe one person for it - Nadene Cherry
She’s top of mind because she sent me the nicest most supportive audio message this morning and it’s powered me through my day.
We met one fateful morning in a glass skyscraper in Chicago. That day I was a ball of nerves and anxiety. I was about to speak for the first time ever on a subject (creativity) I’d never spoken about publicly before in front of a crowd of some of the best and most talented founders of startups in America.
As I sat nervously, cup of coffee in my hand, going through my notes and presentation, a glowing ball of light and energy appeared in front of me.
It was Nadene. She stood at the front of the crowd, commanded the rooms attention instantly, the fell silent, and then she went through the routine.
2 breaths. Both feet on the floor. Grounded.
Then she set everyone’s mind and intention right, gave gratitude for the moment and place we all shared together, and set the table for the day.
What a treat.
I haven’t met many people in my life that can do this so effortlessly.
I think it’s because she is IT. She loves it, breathes it, lives it, shares it.
The IT is some sort of oneness with the fabric of humanity. A tapping into the source that is us all and all of us.

I encourage you all to learn a technique like this for yourself, learn and practice taking these little moments to ground yourself, be calm, feel your body and mind. Game changer.
